Venice Off The Beaten Path: 711 reviews and 1,240 photos
Dogana di Mare was built in the year 1677, after the plans of the architect Giuseppe Benoni.
The edifice is placed at the corner between the Canale Grande and the Canale di Giudeca.
Earlier, it was the point where the goods ships were unloaded and declared.
The tower of the building has a golden sphere on the top of it, and the statue of Fortuna is placed on the sphere.
This edifice is an important objective of the city, and a wonderful white point, at the corner between the two canals.
Vaporetto 1, Station: Santa Maria della Salute.
