Bailey's Antiques and Aloha Shirts: "Aloha shirt heaven!" Honolulu Shopping Tip by Karlie85

I really wanted a Hawaiian (Aloha) shirt (or two...) as a souvenir from my trip to Hawaii, and this was the place to find them. 15,000 of them, to be exact! Racks upon racks, all along the walls, hanging from the ceiling. Bailey's has rare aloha shirts from the 1930s and on along with new and replica shirts, ranging in price from the $3.99 sale rack to $5000 for one shirt. Most of the shirts are in the middle of the range price. I picked up a couple for about $40 each. The lady at the counter was incredibly knowledgeable about everything aloha
shirt. More so than I thought anyone ever could be! She spent about 20 minutes talking to one customer at the front about some collectors shirts, and then another 10 minutes to me while I was up there paying. There are so many different fabrics, styles, patterns, types of buttons.... It really is fascinating and I wish I would have had more time to spend talking about it with her. There is so much to learn. I almost lost myself browsing through all of the interesting shirts. There are photos throughout the store of some of the famous customers of Bailey's (The Rock, Nicholas Cage). Apparently Nicholas Cage spent $15,000 there once on 3 shirts. Bailey's also has interesting antiques and collectibles for sale.
