Apartment Rental: "Apartment Rental" Buenos Aires Restaurant Tip by flores_adam

Just one observation on renting an apartment in Buenos Aires. There are many websites to choose from but be forewarned that none of those agencies will bother to show or even arrange with the owner for you to see the apartment. All you will get are the pictures of places. This is fine but in real life the situation may not be so nice. This is important if you plan to stay in BA for a bit longer.
I always want to see the room even if it is in a hotel for a couple of days. This way I have been able to avoid many unpleasant surprises.
I did find one (1) agency where the people there will go that important extra mile. It appears they are still in the process of building up their business and this may be the reason to provide personal service. One of their people is one young American chap (Philippe) who was of special help. Look up their name: Casa San Telmo■ or www.casasantelmo.com.ar
But if you are to stay in BA for longer and speak little Spanish, my suggestion is to get one of the dailies and simply go through the classified. This way you will get the prices much, lower than from those English-spoken professional rental agencies.
And don?t consider the Internet to be that great of a deal. In most apartments you will find it included as part of your amenities. You could always get one on your on for about $30 a month. There are many free access hot spots anyway and the chances are you will find decent connection in your area or you can always use cheap and omnipresent Internet cafes called Locutorios.
