The Castle is situated on Union Street, in the heart of Oldham’s busy nightlife. It is open Thursday, Friday and Saturday, and has live music every night. It’s stage has seen the likes of The Fratellis, Kasabian, Little Man Tate, The Chameleons, Babyshambles, The Fall, not to mention many local up-and-coming bands such The Fayre and The Cassettes.
Being close to the Manchester Music scene, The Castle has also seen early performances from Oasis, The Stone Roses, and Northside to mention but a few.
There have also been DJ sets from Shaun Ryder (Happy Mondays), New Order and The Smiths
Thursday hosts the Acoustic Lounge, with free Entry from 9 o’clock. Friday sees ‘Reloaded’, with live bands and rock n roll mayhem. The best Indi tunes and Guitar Anthems fill up the dancefloor, with £1.50 drink offers. The doors open at 10 o’clock and don’t shut till the club does, at 3 am. Entry is £4 before 12, £5 after. On Satrudays, they have 'all the best indie/alternative tunes + live bands’. Entry is £3 and selected bottles are £1.50.
