After spending the morning in the Spa we decided to see if we could have Tea in the Garden View Lounge. The Grand Floridian does a good job at creating a tea house atmosphere that makes you believe you are not in Florida. We were seated almost immediately at a nice table for two. The room is bright and suny with large windows lookig out into the garden. The room is filled with tables and chairs in soft tones of cream, green and peaches. The room is accented with trees, plants and flowers. We were handed a menu and pondered the selections. It took us a bit to finaly decide on The Grand Tea. The waitress took our order and in a few minutes our teas and the trimming arrived. The tea is served in beautiful white china painted with roses and gold.
The service here was excellent as was the tea, pastries, sandwiches and trimmings. Disney once again brought something to a higher level for me.
Favorite Dish: We chose The Grand Tea at $25.50 per person. The Grand Tea includes: a selction of two teas, Liz had the Jasmine White and I had the Russian Earl Grey. We were each served a nice glass of Champagne as well to accompany the tea. The tower arrived full of scones, jam tarts and sandwiches. Liz enjoyed the apricot jam tarts and the watersress asandwiches the best. I liked the strawberry scones, chicken sald with almonds and the pear tart with gorgonzola. There was so much food we has leftovers which they wrapped for us to take back to our room.
I would recommend this experience to anyone. The service was incredible and the food delicious. It was a nice snack after a nice day at the spa.
