When VT fixes the upload issue, pics will be added. It is frustrating
The whole area just north of downtown was renovated and became the scene for a fabulous Summer Olympics in 1996. I was there shortly afterword, and it was like the town got into the 21st Century. They ended up with Atlantic Station, a now mixed use urban concept of dwellings, retail and events for tourism and locals to enjoy. Also, a new baseball stadium was built, and many living units for the Georgia State University there. The cauldron still flames, even though now electric. It is by the Interstate 75 as you drive by. Atalanta ended up with a $! billion development price, but revival of downtown was the benefit.

Directions: Just north of town center
