Beijing National Aquatics Center (better known as Water Cube) is also located at Olympic Green in Beijing, just adjacent to the Bird's Nest National Stadium. It was used for swimming competitions during the 29th Beijing Olympiad. The Water Cube is not exactly a cube. It is more of a rectangular in shape, i.e. 178 metres square by 31 metres in height. The National Aquatics Center has a capacity for 17,000 spectators.

The Water Cube was designed by a consortium of architects headed by PTW Architects, an Australian architect firm. It was constructed between 2004 and 2007 and officialy opened in 2008 before the Olympic Games. It occupies a total area of approximately 80,000 square metres.

Water Cube Swimming Complex is a great tourist attraction in Beijing. More and more local and foreign tourists visit the swimming complex for its beautiful architecture!.
