Hostaria Mazzei: "Good Italian Around The Corner(CLOSED)" Port Chester Restaurant Tip by cjg1

Port Chester Restaurants: 30 reviews and 64 photos

Mazzei is a nice little Italian restaurant in our neighborhood literally a stones throw away from where we live. The place is a nice size with plenty of seating in the dining room as well as a bar area. The food here is excellent and Liz swears that it is because the chef is from Sardinia ( I don't know...she's the Italian). The menu has a nice selection of appetizers, salads, pizza, pasta, meat, chicken and fish dishes. The wine list her is extensive and we always find something incredible to go with dinner even some of Liz's favorites from Italy are on the menu. The service here is very good and Dominick (one of the owners) usually stops by to make sure you are happy.

Whether we come here for lunch or dinner either by ourselves or with friends we always have a wonderful meal.

Favorite Dish: The calamari is our favorite appetizer and we always order it. The breading is perfect and crisp. Liz loves their Gnocchi Sorrentina with fresh mozzarella...she orders it almost every time. The ravioli Pomodoro is quite nice here as well as the Zuppa de Pesce. The seafood is very fresh and the portion is quite large; I always bring at least half home with us.
