"Tides" Cambutal Warnings Or Dangers Tip by bilgeez

Cambutal Warnings and Dangers: 3 reviews and 0 photos

The reef fronting the resort is almost completely uncovered during ebb tide and almost completely under water at neap tide. Hence, my recommendation to bring reef walkers in my packing list tip. One can walk the reef, however, one should be careful to see the tide chart for the day, as if the tide comes in while you are on the reef, unless you are a very strong swimmer, you will have difficulty making it to shore without a long swim. If you are on the reef when the tide is still going out, you could be swept out to sea if you get knocked off the reef on the leeward side. One needs to be careful when on the reef! There is excellent snorkeling on the shore side of the reef and low tide is the best time to do this.
