Aran Island Ferries
We stayed in Galway the night before arriving on Inis Mor. We bought a ticket from the office near Eyre Square (25 euros). The bus left Galway around 9am for a 10:30 ferry out of Rossaveal.

I took a dramamine for motion sickness, but the ride wasn't too bad. It was slightly grey and we sat on top with windbreakers on.

In the summer months of July and August, a ferry leaves directly from Galway. There are also ferry services from Doolin. But, we were going to be in Galway already and had heard that the Doolin ferries are cancelled for rough seas more often than the Rossaveal Ferry.

Added bonus: the bus trip from Galway to Rossaveal follows the coast road and is a beautiful ride through fields and villages. It let me get used to the route - and the feeling of driving on the left side of the road - before our trip to Connemara on the same road.
