"Nothing lasts for long in Vegas..." Past & Present Tip by Jefie

One of the things that struck me as I was walking up and down the Strip was that hotels have a very short life expectancy in Las Vegas. Save for a few hotels, there isn't much left on the Strip that is more than a couple decades old. Many of the old "classics" have been demolished over the years to make room for the new larger and more impressive resorts. For example, the Bellagio was built where the Dunes Hotel & Casino used to stand, the Venitian was built on the site of the Sands Hotel & Casino, while the Wynn now stands where the Desert Inn Hotel used to be. There currently are several important projects underway, such as the 4,800-room CityCenter Hotel & Casino. I couldn't help but think that if I were to go back to Las Vegas in a few years, there would still be plenty to discover while some of the hotels I visited will no doubt be a thing of the past. One thing's for sure, it'll be interesting to see what they come up with next!
