Every day in summer and every other day in winter you can go along to Buckingham Palace in the morning and watch the Changing of the Guard ceremony for free. There's a guard in the photo - the little grey figure in the guardbox - standing to attention in his winter clothes and signature bearskin hat. And the Changing of the Guard is when they... change. Basically some Army guys in red jackets (in the summer) or grey trenchcoats (in the winter) parade up and down for a bit, then one lot goes home and the others get to stand around and occasionally march up and down. But a bit of pomp never hurt anyone, right?
