So, the big discussion topic I was wondering about before my trip was - flight or bus to and from cities in Argentina?? I was all about taking a flight roundtrip from Buenos Aires to Mendoza, and my friend was not as keen. The price a few weeks out was almost identical between the flight and bus, but by the time we were ready to book, flight prices had gone way up. (If you're an Argentinian citizen, there were still really good deals throguh LAN, though). So, we opted for the bus option and I actually had a great time!

I recommend booking at least 3 days in advance and getting the "ejecutivo cama" which is the most expensive since this is an overnight journey and its a small price to pay for comfort when the difference between an uncomfortable seat and bed-like option is only about $20.

Plus once we got on the bus, we all played bingo! How fun!!! I love games, so I was sold :-) And the winner gets a bottle of wine, courtesy of Andesmar. Fun! Anyway, after we left the city we were served an appetizer and hot dinner that was filling and quite tasting, complimentary wine and cookies for dessert. They also showed 2 popular movies and with everyone pretty much on the same schedule, we went to sleep after that. Waking up in the morning , we were greeted with juice, coffee or tea and a continental type breakfast.

All in all, quite pleasant. If you're not in the mood to book too far in advance and want a flexible option, I recommend the bus route...
