"Turkish Baths" Turkey Things to Do Tip by Penelope4

Turkey Things to Do: 1,137 reviews and 1,882 photos

To get a genuine Turkish Bath, go to Turkey. No, you don't go to the Bosphorous to bathe nor to the Marmara. I was just teasing. This is what they mean by Turkish bath: Turkish bath starts by pouring yourself some water. First you rinse yourself. There are two taps: one for cold and one for hot water. You can control the temperature of your water. Then you wrap yourself with a traditional Turkish towel and lie down on a heated marble platform. The room is somehow warm and you will start to perspire a bit as you lie down comfortably. Pamper yourself by having somebody bathe/scrub away your dead skin cells with a nice aromatic soap/suds. You may also have oil massage afterwards before returning to the warm platform to relax once again. That's Turkish Bath - no jacuzzi nor swimming pool. There are separate rooms for men and women. No need to bring slippers, towels or soaps. You can store your belongings in safe lockers.
