"Redwood Library" Top 5 Page for this destination Redwood Library and Anthenaeum Tip by cjg1

The Redwood Library and Athenaeum is a private subscription library in Newport. The Library was founded 1747. It is the oldest community library still occupying its original building in the United States. The building was designed in a Renaissance style by the architect Andrea Palladio. The Library was the first classical public building built in America. The building was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1966.

You can't walk down Bellevue Avenue without noticing the Library. We pass it on all of our Bellevue strolls.
