"Ciudad de Bocas del Toro" Panama Things to Do Tip by iwys

Ciudad de Bocas del Toro is the capital of the province of the same name and the main town in the Bocas del Toro archipelago. It is on Isla Colon and is a good base from which to explore the islands. It has plenty of hotels and restaurants and a busy barbour from which there are ferries and boats to the mainland as well as all the main places of interest on the other islands. It also exports bananas, coffee, cocoa and coconuts.
It is only a small town with a population of under 4,000 and consists of just four streets of multicoloured, wooden houses, most of which are restaurants, hotels, pensions and grocery stores. At its heart is a park, bordered by the main official buildings including the Governor's office. But, the most interesting part of this laid back town is the colourful harbour area.
