We were meeting friends for dinner who were coming into town from Greenwich, CT and told them we wanted to get good Korean food. They chose this place in Manhattan's extensive Koreantown because it has great BBQ. For those not familiar with Korean BBQ, this isn't like American BBQ with wet sauce or dry rub for flavor. It's not pulled pork or baby back ribs. Korean BBQ is a variety of thinly sliced meats, some marinated but most not, that are often times cooked at your table on a grill conveniently placed in the center of the table. The staff will bring out the meats and cook them for you so don't worry about paying to cook your own food.

We had separate orders of the traditional Korean savory pancake and steamed dumplings (mandoo), and a BBQ assortment of pork short ribs (kalbi), pork slices (bulgogi), and the really intriguing thing being thick slices of pork belly. It looked like thick bacon but wasn't smoked. Really good and tender. And lots of great pan chan (the little appetizer-sized dishes that come for free in most Korean restaurants). All great washed down with a bottle of OB.

This place has generated a reputation so there's as likely to be non-Koreans as Koreans. As a result the Korean staff should be able to answer any questions you'll have about the menu.

Favorite Dish: Grilled pork belly; assortment of pan chan.
