  The Coppermine, Virgin Gorda, BVI
by sabsi

The coppermine on Virgin Gorda is one of the few historic sites on the island. You can't see much apart from the ruins and a few copper coloured stones here. The spot is very scenic though. I bet the Cornish miners who built this mine in the 19th century and worked here together with local men, women and children (!) didn't have much time or enthusiasm to enjoy the views though.

Directions: Coppermine Point is located in the southeast of The Valley.
