When you see a sharp pointed spire pushing up into the sky, you've found the Spire of Dublin. You will see it on O'Connell Street at the hub of the city center shopping area.

It was erected to replace Nelson's pillar that was blown up in 1966. It was erected between 12/02 and 1/03 the result of a winning entry in an architecural competition. It's made of stainless steel, rises 120 meters tall (the tallest structure in Dublin City Center) and is lit at the top section by small LEDS.

Address: O'Connell Street, Dublin 1
