Oceanic Pearl: "A Goan Pearl" Goa Hotel Tip by Stubbsn
Goa Hotels: 378 reviews and 424 photos
Ofter 4 days in Calcutta, 2 nights on a train and 2 nights in Bombay we needed a place to relax and unwind. We saw the Oceanic Pearl holiday Appartments on the net with very good reviews and plumped for them despite some reservations on my part that they were too inexpensive to seriously offer what I wanted. When we arrived my concerns where immediately banished.
We were met at the airport (50 mins drive) by a car and welcomed at the appartments by Tania and Frank who live there and run the business. The rooms are of varying sizes - we were in the smallest twin room but we still had a small food preparation area and a wonderful, large wetroom. A telly and in-room secure box. Tania and Frank provide their guests with everything they can't travel with and regular change of bath towels, bed sheets etc.
Callangute is a bit hectic but this part where the Oceanic Pearl is much quieter (it still has a number of places to eat, drink and shop). It's five minutes tuc-tuc ride away from the centre of the town (about 50R). The beach is 300 meters (what a beach!).
Spotlessly clean and tastefully decorated, this place is a great place to stay if you want to either vegetate on a beach or explore this wonderful part of the world.
Tania and Frank's real asset though is themselves - welcoming, friendly, accomodating and efficient - great hosts in a great place to rest your head. Not sure that I want the secret of this place to get out!
Unique Qualities: Qualities - cleanliness, a relaxing, quiet area, closeness to both the beach and 'bustling' Callangute. Fantastic management.
