‘Of course’ we visited Sedona’s shopping landmark ‘Tlaquepaque’ (pronounced Tla-keh-pah-keh) not far away from Uptown Sedona. (We walked to the shopping center – avoiding parking problems and returned by a free shuttle bus).

Tlaquepaque is built in Mexican style with shaded courtyards, fountains, tiles staircases, flowers, trees and cobble stoned plazas. And the most important it offers about 40 shops, restaurants and one café. As a matter of fact most of the ‘shops’ are art galleries; others are really upscale shops selling jewellery, crafts and wearable’s. Don’t expect cheap knickknacks in Tlaquepaque and don’t forget your credit card.

To be honest we loved it strolling around and having a drink watching the visitors, but didn’t buy anything (not really our taste and most of the stuff was just too expensive).

Opening hours of the shops: 10 am -5 pm; closed Thanksgiving Day and Christmas day.

What to buy: Artwork, jewellery, clothing and gifts

Address: 336 Highway 179, Sedona, Arizona
Directions: Just south of Uptown Sedona before the Oak Creek Bridge
Theme: Art
