  Palazzo Gritti-Pisani

Once home to the Gritti family, this 15th century building has been converted to a luxury hotel known as Gritti Palace Hotel. It is said that Ernest Hemingway so loved this hotel that he called it "the best hotel in a city of great hotels." Can't be certain if that remains true since I've never got the chance to stay here. From a vaporetto, it does actually looks a bit more plain than other palazzi on the Grand Canal. Must be a different story inside the hotel?
