On Sunday morning it was great to start the day with a walk along the Parque Forestal, which was located near the Plaza Baquedano, not far from our hotel.

Parque Forestal is a green oasis in the big and busy city of Santiago. Of course as we visited Santiago during the winter period, the park was a bit less green.

The park is filled with pieces of art, statues and fountains, and playgrounds for the younger ones. Ruben Dario was a nice statue 9see pictures0, which was a homage of the Chilean people to the Nicaraguan immortal poet because of his birth centenary.

Along the way you pass an imposing building, it is the Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes (see next tip)

Address: Av Cardenal Caro
Directions: Metro : Baquedano
