"Road Journey From Kuala Lumpur" Gua Musang Transportation Tip by chiabh

There are 2 ways to Gua Musang from Kuala Lumpur... The most popular road will be thru Bentong... This route covers some 290km... From Kuala Lumpur, just hit the Kuala Lumpur-Karak Highway to Bentong... It is then to Raub by Federal Route 8... and then onward towards Kuala Lipis... The trunk road by-passes Kuala Lipis and runs directly to Gua Musang...

The alternative is thru the new Cameron Highlands route from Simpang Pulai... The road is generally used by those from the north (ie Ipoh and Penang) wishing to go to Gua Musang, Kota Baru and Taman Negara at both Sungai Relau and Kuala Tahan... This route will be longer than the first alernative by about 100km... From Kuala Lumpur, you have to hit the North-South Highway northwards to Ipoh... Exit at Simpang Pulai, just before Ipoh... Then take the road to Pos Slim and Kampung Raja... Kampung Raja is the turn-off to Cameron Highways... It is then straight from Kampung Raja to Gua Musang...
