The baths of Sidi Khelifa are not the most impressive baths that I’ve seen in Tunisia but surprisingly they are in a very good state of conservation so you don’t need to have a lot of imagination to understand how they worked. The walls are high enough to distinguish all the rooms (frigidarium, tepidarium, calidarium, palestra, latrines…) and they all keep the original decoration (mosaics and some paintings on the walls)(picture 1). You can also see the different layers of the floor and how Romans managed to heat the rooms (hot water at different temperatures circulated inside tubs under the floor) (picture 2)

Directions: Central East of Tunisia
Dorsale Mountains
