At Sólheimar ego-village there is a health-food store with mostly organic food. It is called Verslunin Vala and contains an art gallery with hand-made carpets, beautiful candles, paintings and carved wood, all hand-made by people living at Sólheimar. A lovely little store and gallery with lots of interesting things on sale (see my pictures).

The opening hours of the store and gallery are:

Weekdays: 14:30-18.
Saturdays: 14-17
and every other Sunday when there is mass at Sólheimakirkja church.

What to buy: Local craft made by people living and working at Sólheimar. Stable food with the emphasis being on organic food.

What to pay: A little more than usual, but well worth it.
