"Logan Pass - Hidden Lake Nature Trail" Glacier National Park Things to Do Tip by PinkFloydActuary

Among the tips I read here, one of the more important ones talked about the parking lot at Logan Pass and how it fills up. The first day I was at Glacier, I basically made a beeline for the Pass, and planned on backtracking to cover what I missed. Of course, this meant I arrived an hour before the visitor center opened and there were about 20 cars in the lot! The important thing was I got a parking place and was going to hike the Hidden Lake Nature Trail. My starting point was one of the highlights of the trip.
The trailhead is behind the visitor center and starts out as a raised boardwalk across the tundra. The mountain scenes to your left and right are simply fantastic. The snow melts create some minor waterfalls along the trail The trail is about a mile and a half out (and of course, back), and there is a moderate elevation gain, but it's spread out fairly well, so I didn't think it was too bad - although coming back was quite a bit easier. Eventually, the lake comes into view and will take your breath away. You can extend the trail and go down to the lake, but I had too much else to see. All in all, this was a great hike and one of my favorite stops on the trip.
