1935 hurricane monumant

this monument built out of local keys stone was originally a brass plaque commemorating the people that died in the 1935 hurricane. this memorial was built on the site of the matecume school which was totally destroyed in the 1935 hurricane. this monument is listed on the national register of historic places. for those interested in florida history it is worth a look.
