GNPC - Rustic Camping: "Camping In Park" Val Marie Hotel Tip by Babzz

There is no official campground in the park. All camping is strictly rustic. You can camp anywhere in the park so long as you are at least one kilometre from the road, so as not to detract from the viewing experience of other visitors. Register with the visitor centre. We paid $7 in 2008. No open fires are allowed, so bring your camp cooking gear if you plan on preparing hot food at your campsite. Check first with staff if there is a fire ban on (typically later in the summer when everything is dying off and drying up)

Unique Qualities: Being alone in the vast prairie; the utter silence at night; seeing all the stars; coyotes howling in the morning (substitute roosters?).
