Casa Guadalajara: "Tex Mex in Old Town" Casa Guadalajara Tip by Dabs

We asked at our hotel which Mexican restaurant they recommended in Old Town and they enthusiastically recommended Casa Guadalajara. We arrived at around 6:30 on a Friday night and there was already a pretty long wait even though it was off season.

Once we were seated service was quick and efficient. The area we were in near the bar was extremely loud, even louder when the mariachi band was fired up. It was a bit too loud for me on this particular evening but it seems like a great place to go to celebrate.

Favorite Dish: I thought the food here was better than the Old Town Mexican Cafe, the food and atmosphere at Casa Guadalajara reminded me a lot of Chi Chi's, a now defunct franchise of Tex Mex restaurants that we used to frequent in the Chicagoland area. I ordered the Especial de la Casa, with carne asada, cheese enchilada, guacamole and mexican rice, it was good and the portion size plentiful. The rest of the menu is an extensive variety of Tex Mex favorites with chicken, beef and seafood options.
