Santiago General: 57 reviews and 61 photos

Favorite thing: In Santiago you can do everything: if you wanna sightseeing, you can do it without problems (big problems, because you have to take care of you like all cities of 6 million inhabitants). City is the safest in Latin America and health stantards are the best too, don't worry.
You can begin a city tour in old dowtown, Alameda Bernardo O'Higgins, Mall Paseo Ahumada and Paseo Huérfanos (a lot of shops, restaurants, cinemas, theaters). Plaza de Armas and Santa Lucía Hill.
after visit old neighborhoods in downtown: República, París Y Londres, Concha Y Toro, Brasil, and Parque Forestal, neoclassical neighborhoods of the old rich people. Visit Museum of Fine Arts and Museum of New Arts, almost the same construction like Petit Palais in Paris (Forestal Park).
After you can visit the Santiago's Latin Quartier: Bellavista, full of restaurants, museums, theaters.
Santiago Zoo located in Baquedano metro station (Italy Square) and the Virgin in San Cristobal Hill, the biggest park inside a city in the world, you can see all the city and the Andes Mountais.
After, you can go to Providencia, fashionable area to shop almost everything, good restaurants and stores.
New zone of Santiago called Sanhattan (Manhattan of Santiago) is El Golf, Vitacura, El Bosque, Apoquindo, Las Condes and Kennedy neighborhoods.
The biggest and good shopping centers are Alto Las Condes and Parque Arauco. This year Costanera Center Shopping will be open (will be the most luxurous and biggest).
You can enjoy all Santiago's option of a big city like this, but if you wanna do other things: you have to get up to mountains and ski in Valle Nevado, Farellones, La Parva, Colorado, located to 50 kms aproximated from downtown.
Viña del Mar, fashionable resort of 400.000 inhabitants (1 million in Valparaiso Metropolitan Area) is really good city, Valparaiso and its hills, its downtown inspirated in London, UK, and this european sensation is very good.
