this cemetry is just opposite the old Jewish one. I was here because a friend of mine was trying to find the graves of some of his ancestors who died here more than 100 years ago. With the help of my local friend Oxana Matyichuk he was able to find what he was searching for. All was properly listed in the office of the administation.

The most impressive was the fact that the graves still were untouched and in excellent condition. Think what all happened to the city and its inhabiants under the past 100 years! It shows that the locals of today feel a deep respect towards their history as a whole which also incorporates the former inhabitants of all ethnic origins and confessions.

This is is a completely different situation as compared for example to Czechia where all the graves of the ancestors of the Germans who were violently expelled after WW2 in 1945 were perfectly destroyed. Their tombs were soon after that brought down by bulldozers. My friend had also ancestors who were buried there in Western Bohemia.
