"Fubo Shan" Guilin Things to Do Tip by Willettsworld

Guilin Things to Do: 201 reviews and 415 photos

This hill, (known in English as Whirlpool Hill), lies to the north of the city centre, right up against the Li River so the views from the top, at a height of 213 meters, are wonderful. It was on this hill that a temple in commemoration of General Fubo was built in the Tang Dynasty (618-907), which gave rise to the name Fubo Hill. By the entrance is a statue of General Fubo. Legend says he fired an arrow to tell a defeated army where they should retreat to. It landed in their home village. There's also a few small caves and other features.

Open: 7am-6.30pm. Admission: RMB15.
