This wonderful open air restuarant is situated on the banks of Lake Pichola. It is part of an hotel,but is heavily frequented by locals & tourists alike. Under huge shady trees, there are wrought-iron tables with comfortable chairs, and birds and squirrels round around, and perch on tables. Views are fantastic, overlooking ghats and the lake. Lunch can stretch on the whole afternoon.....its very relaxed. The service is good, the food is delicious, and the beer is cold.They also have a good wine list.
At night, it comes alive with atmosphere. Candle-lit tables and music add to the exotic atmosphere.On weekend evening also dancing. It is wise to book for an evening meal.
Ambrai can be reached on foot. It is a pleasant 20 minute walk from Lal Ghat,across the bridge.

Favorite Dish: Pokara. Also all the vegetarian dishes were unbeatable.
