This unusual red tower was built between 1972 and 1972 and is called the Bierpinsel (beer brush). It is 46 metres in height and is located directly above the Schlossstraße U-Bahn Station in the Steglitz District. The original idea was for it to resemble a tree but it is said to look more like the bridge on an aircraft tower. The towers different floors were used as a restaurant, nightclub and observation desk. Unfortunately the building has had a troubled past with its different owners and is now closed because it requires costly renovation. Moves are afoot to alter the building and renovate it but these have stalled at present so you can only view the building from the outside.

Address: Schlossstraße/Schildhornstraße, Steglitz
