A bit downhill of the Church of St Constantine and Helena , and modestly tucked away between the houses, there is the Lesser Church of St Clement (Mal Sv Kliment). If you don't look for it you'll probably miss it.
It is called "Lesser" because of the other, bigger, church dedicated to St Clement, the St Clement´s Monastery Church at Plaosnik.
The Lesser Church of St Clement was build and decorated in 1378. It is the only medieval church in Ohrid carrying the name of the town's patron, St. Clement.
In earlier years this church always was closed. In 2012 there was a small note in Macedonian on the door that the church can be opened by the person living at house number 9 downhill from the church. And indeed, the church was opened for us by a very friendly women!
