Britzer Garten, Berlin: 1 reviews and 5 photos

I almost missed going to the 90 acre Britzer Garten. It was voted in 2002 one of the top ten gardens in Germany. It is a park that is well known to Berliners but almost unknown to tourists. It was home of the German Horticultural Show in 1985 and now has well laid out and mature gardens. During the month I visited; September, there was a special exhibition of 5,000 dahlias. You can wander laid out areas or stay on the main routes. In the centre of the park is a large lake. It is a popular place with families, joggers, walkers and seniors. There are a number of restaurants and cafes around the park as well as drinks fountains. For the non energetic types there is a train that winds its way around the park. It is a very large park and you can easily spend several hours wandering around, make sure you have comfortable shoes. The entrance fee is 2 euros.
