"Okay Hotel - Security Isn't Great" Thirty Thirty Hotel New York Tip by setikeyvan

I stayed at this hotel a few years back and overall the experience was okay. I booked a regular room and checked in after 3 p.m. as requested. After, checking in to my hotel and placing my luggage in the closet, I headed out for a walk and coffee with my husband. Before dinner, we returned to our room to change. When I opened the closet, I noticed a bunch airport tags and stickers from a flight originating from Germany. I noticed that the bed duvet was wrinkled as if someone had slept on it. Then, I went to the bathroom and it was clear that some towels had been used. It was obvious that someone had been in our room. Luckily nothing was missing. We took our luggage out of the closet and headed downstairs to the front desk. The front desk admitted that they had accidentally given another guest access to our room, but that the problem had been solved.

The front desk was reluctant to change our room because the hotel was fully booked. They only had suites available. I asked the manager to comp us a suite, because when checking into a perceivably decent hotel we should not worry about the front desk making such mistakes. And, hummm…why wouldn’t the hotel leave us a note in our room telling us what happened so that we wouldn’t be shocked?

The manager was friendly and took care of us. We ended up getting a large suite for our 3 nights in New York. The suite was definitely large, but lacked warmth. There was a lot of empty space. I personally would not recommend this hotel if you're looking for comfort and security. The location was definitely one of the hotel's better assets.
