Strawberry Fields is a Ten-thousand square meter memorial to Lennon on the western border of Central Park in the near of Dakota house, home of the former Beatle and wife Yoko Ono. It is a triangular garden with the IMAGINE mosaic in the middle, built and dedicated as a tribute to Lennon. There is also a plaque that names the 121 countries - among others also Hungary - identifying Strawberry Fields as a Garden of Peace, due to John Lennon's dedication to peace efforts.
It is one of the many memorials where people are gathering on every anniversary of his death, to commemorate him.
John Lennon, the founder of The Beatles, was shot dead 8th December 1980.
