Tittmoning in Bavaria is a small town, where the pope Bededikt XVI spent a few years of his childhood. The village directly at the border between Bavaria and Austria has a great baroque townsquare and an interesting castle and parts of the medieval townwall and the moat ahead of it can also be seen nowadays.
You may combine a visit to Tittmoning with Laufen and Oberndorf bei Salzburg (where Silent Night originated) with Burghausen, the largest castle in Germany, with Braunau in Austria or also with a small village called Fúcking, just in case that you love to go to places with funny names !!
