Germany Off The Beaten Path: 479 reviews and 733 photos

Kröv is a tiny village at the left bank of the Mosel-valley and it has some great half-timbered houses, BUT mainly it is well known for a funny name for one of its great wines :

Kröver N@ckt@rsch

There is a little story about that funny name, explained on the bottle :
Once upon a time the children of the village went down into the cellar in order to drink some wine ! They were caught, and their n@cked @ss had to pay for it ....
a n@cked @ss is a Nacktarsch in German
The word @rsch is really very rude, and you certainly should never, never use it !
but when you quote the name of the wine and bring it home as a souvenir, everybody is smiling and having fun also because of the funny label !
When driving through Kröv you will see many places, where the vintners have windows, where you can taste the wine and buy the bottles of the famous wine (see my 3rd pic)
see Kröv here on the map by www.mosel-reisefuehrer.de
or read more about it in my Kröv-page, the link is below !
