  View from the Bald Hills

This was the most beautiful hike of Jasper National Park in my opinion. The trailhead starts at Maligne Lake (don`t park directly at the ticket/ferry station but at the next parking lot). The hike follows a fire road for several kilometers until you come to a crossing: both ways lead ultimately to the Bald Hills viewing point, but the (moderately) steeper course is more scenic and is highly recommended. You have several perfect panorama views of Maligne Lake and the surrounding mountains on the way. The view from the ultimate viewing point though is actually less good than the views you have on the way up (or down). Keep in mind that dogs are not allowed on the trail as this is a Caribou recovery area. The hike - depending on your fitness - takes roughly 4-5 hours incl. return.

The Opal Hills Hike nearby is said to worthwhile too, but was closed at the time we where there due to Grizzly "bluff attacks".
