The Hofkirche in Wuerzburg is without doubt one of the most beautiful churches in Germany ! It was constructed after the plans of Balthasar Neumann and the interior was built by Lucas von Hildebrandt with paintings by Giovanni Nattista Tiepolo, frescos by Rudolf Byss and the great pulpit by Materno Bossi. Hofkirche was destroyed in WW II but completly restored already shortly afterwards.
You can enter this great church freely and without restrictions dring the day, photography is no problem !
Hofkirche is open daily for visitors :
From April till October : 09.00 a.m. - 06.00 p.m.
and November till March : 10.00 a.m. - 04.30 p.m.
Directions: Wuerzburg is in the north of Bavaria, between Frankfurt and Nuernberg. Hofkirche is in the right wing of the Residenz in Wuerzburg, in fact from outside it looks just like a part of the palace !
