It?s not difficult to find gas stations in the cities or towns, but be careful. What do I mean with "be careful"? Well, on some occasions, you have to drive more than 120 kms. ?crossing the centre of nowhere?. So, I suggest to check the tank (or fill it up rather) every morning; and if there is a long road before you, for example, from ReykjahlÝ (lake Mřvatn) to Egilsstair, in the north, don?t risk, the traffic is light and you may face a difficult situation if you run out of gas.

There is a website that will send you a map with the, according to what they say, all gas stations across Iceland. Although After all, it?s not too important as long as you use your common sense.
