"Crafts and tourist attractions in local villages" Santa Cruz Huatulco Off The Beaten Path Tip by crazyman2
Santa Cruz Huatulco Off The Beaten Path: 24 reviews and 44 photos
Well, the Mexican government has been working hard to develop tourism at Huatulco. One of the ventures is to encourage people in local villages to set up stalls/demonstrations/exhibitions of thei wares/skills.
We went, by minibus, to a fruit stall demonstration ---excellent
to a we-use-this-cactus-for-so-many-things talk ---interesting for some
to a craft market ---lots of woven baskets, mats etc
to a trafitional herb garden ---not good for us English, with our gardens
to a tapas-making demonstration ---interesting. Look in the church too!
The prices were Mexican prices ---and so a good deal for us.
the guide and driver were excellent.
Would I go again....possibly.
This write-up will cover 5 entries ---one for each stop so that I can show the photos.
