"Tourist INFO, banks and ATM" Madrid Favorite Tip by mindcrime

Favorite thing: At the airport I found the info desk very useful about the metro and where to go/stop. They also have maps of the metro to take with you.

At the city center there are some INFO kiosks. At the pic you can see the one at Cibeles square, which is a central spot to start exploring the city. The girl that was working there was very friendly and in English gave me all the info I wanted. When I asked about some trips I wanted to do with long distance buses she pointed me at the map where is the bus station and she gave me a paper with the timetable about my trip. I guess they have more like that about the basic day trips like Toledo, Segovia etc
The only bad thing was the free map of the city which is a bad one.

Madrid is full of banks that work Monday-Friday (morning hours) but also I noticed many ATM where you can easily use your card. I have to say that Madrid is much more expensive than 10 years before but still cheaper than Athens.
