Each year during the ninth lunar month (which falls between Sep and Nov according to the Lunar Calendar), thousands of devotees flock to Kusu Island for their annual Kusu Pilgrimage to pay homage for good health, peace, happiness, good luck and prosperity. At this time of the year, there is a temporary bazaar on the island selling various stuff such as souvenirs, religious items etc. This bazaar is located just next to the famous Tua Pek Kong temple.
