Torre de Belém - Tower of Belém, Lisbon: 224 reviews and 444 photos

The Museu Nacional dos Coches exhibits one of the finest collections in the world in what was once an 18th century riding academy which was part of the Belem Royal Palace. Most of the coaches date back from a time between the 17th and 19th centuries and come from Italy, France, Spain, Austria and of course Portugal. There is a rare late 16th century travelling coach which was used in 1619 by King Philip II of Portugal to travel from Spain to Portugal. Aside from the expensive display of coaches, there are also collections of harnesses, portraits and court costumes all belonging to the Royal Family.

Open Tues-Sun 10.00am ? 6.00pm.
