  Powodzianka Monument
by AgnusRafferty

"Powodzianka" statue commemorates the great flood of 1997. It is very important for locals because it reminds of the struggle to save the city, joint effort and solidarity of all citizens in face of disaster.

The statue is of a woman carrying books on her left shoulder, representing volunteers who helped rescue valuable volumes from flooded libraries of University of Wroclaw.
