Cijin stir fry: "Fresh local catch, Taiwanese style" Kaohsiung Restaurant Tip by DSwede
Kaohsiung Restaurants: 21 reviews and 26 photos
Cijin is known for its fishing markets and fresh seafoods. However many of the foreign tourists may not venture far enough off the path to get a true taste of the locals' favorites.
This is both a tip for a restaurant and an off-the-beaten-path tip. After eating here, there are some beaches and parks that are worth a short walk around.
The restaurant is quite simple and yet very tasty. There is no need to speak, read or understand any Chinese to come here. Simply pay 100NTD and get a food coupon. Then select any dish that you see on display. All the rice and drinks are included with your charge.
Favorite Dish: Taiwanese typically eat their dishes "family style". So all large food dishes are in the center and all people share from them.
They have wonderful seafoods, shrimp, fish, noodles and vegetables. All are served in local sauces and with local seasonings. All the ones we shared were wonderful.
Address: Cijin island
Price Comparison: less expensive than average
Directions: Get to Cijin Ferry terminal. From there take the #35 bus to the station shown in the second picture on this tip (recommend show to driver).
From the bus stop, put the beach to your right side and the restaurant will be ~100m in front of you on your left.
Price: less than US$10
